Step 1 — Verify Roles and Permissions

If several of your Facility Scheduler users have more permissions than they should, make sure that you have

If both the roles and permissions are correct, then your problem is probably caused by incorrectly-assigned role types. Keep reading for an explanation and the solution.

Step 2 — Verify Role Types

Role types are helpful for advanced categorization of users and roles. However, if you selected a role type unintentionally, you may have given the role or user more permissions than you intended. To see if this is causing your problem, clear the role types of the users (and the roles assigned to those users).

To clear the role type of a user
  1. On the Administration tab, click Users.
  2. Select the user.
  3. In the Actions group, click Edit User.
  4. In the Show group, click Roles.
  5. Look at the Role Type.

If the selected role type is Member or Guest, then the user is linked to all other roles and users with that role type. This may be causing your problem. To solve it, select [Custom Role Type] instead. This means that the role is no longer linked to any other roles or users. If the selected role type is already [Custom Role Type], then this is not the cause of your problem.

If you are still having permissions problems, repeat these steps for all users and follow the instructions below for all roles.
