You can set up the Inward and Outward Contact Types that you will use when adding a Contact, and you can also assign Responses to each one.

Contact Types

Inward Contact Types are the actions individuals take when contacting your church or organization. Some examples are when visitors fill out an information card or when a member requests prayer.

Outward Contact Types are the actions your church or organization takes when making contact with members and visitors. Some examples are calling visitors, sending out welcome letters, and visiting members who are in the hospital.

 To add or edit contact types
  1. Under Advanced Tools, click the Define Lists tab.
  2. In the drop-down list, select Connections and click Go .
  3. Click on the appropriate Contact Type (Inward or Outward), then click Add.
  4. Enter an item. Select Add Another to enter several items at one time.
  5. Click OK. Continue adding items to the lists as necessary.
  6. To edit an item, select it in the right pane and click Edit. Make the necessary changes and click OK.

Assigning Responses

You can assign Responses to each of your Inward and Outward contact types. For example, If you have an Outward Contact Type of Visitor Phone Call (the church contacting the visitor), your Responses could be: Interested in Membership, Undecided, Not Interested in Membership.

 To assign responses to a contact type
  1. Under Advanced Tools, click the Define Lists tab.
  2. In the drop-down list, select Connections and click Go .
  3. Expand the appropriate Contact Type. Select the item you want to assign responses to.
  4. Click Assign Responses. Select all of the responses that you want to associate with this item, then click OK.

 To unassign or remove responses from a contact type
  1. Under Advanced Tools, click the Define Lists tab.
  2. In the drop-down list, select Connections and click Go .
  3. Expand the appropriate Contact Type. Select the item you want to unassign or remove responses from.
  4. Select Assign Responses. Clear the responses you want to remove from this item.
  5. Click OK.
