With OnDemand, you can send bulk emails from the ACS, HeadMaster, and PDS Office programs. In order to do this, you must set up this feature. Select a program tab below and follow the instructions. You only need to do this once.

Tip

If you want to add an attachment to your email, the OnDemand team recommends you first copy the file from your computer to the S drive. This helps expedite the emailing process. The file size limit for OnDemand is 1.75 MB for the attachment and 7 MB for a session. View information on transferring files to the S drive.

  1. In Windows, to open OnDemand, double-click the OnDemand Client desktop icon. On a Mac, in Applications, double-click the OnDemand Client desktop icon.
  2. In the ACS Technologies OnDemand window, double-click ACS People Suite.
  3. Enter your user name and password, and click OK.
  4. In the Searches and Reports section of the ACS Workbench menu, click Searches.
  5. On the Search Information tab, click Mass E-mail.
  6. Under E-mail Method, click Use Local SMTP, and click OK.
  7. In the E-mail Editor window, click the Options icon .
  8. In the Number of Addresses to Include In a Single E-Mail field, enter 25. This setting is to prevent email filters from viewing this email as spam.
  9. In the Number of E-mails to Send before Reconnecting field, enter 2. By reconnecting, it is less likely that this email will be detected incorrectly as spam.
  10. In the Pause between E-mails field, enter 2. Not only does this setting help prevent this email from being detected as spam, it also allows the ACS OnDemand servers to continue to operate at optimal speeds.
  11. Click OK.

Once you enter these settings, you can begin sending emails. For more information on sending emails within your software, see ACS - Sending Emails.

  1. In Windows, to open OnDemand, double-click the OnDemand Client desktop icon. On a Mac, in Applications, double-click the OnDemand Client desktop icon.
  2. In the ACS Technologies OnDemand window, double-click HeadMaster.
  3. Enter your user name and password, and click OK.
  4. On the Home screen, click Options.
  5. Click SMTP Settings.
  6. By default, Use OnDemand SMTP Settings is selected.
  7. Enter the School E-mail. This will function as the default email address for replies unless a reply email is set up under Settings.
  8. In the Signature text box, enter the name, title, or other information you want to be applied to the bottom of each mass email.
  9. To set up personal email account information for mass email, click Settings.
  10. Under Mass E-mail Settings, enter the E-mail Address for Replies.
  11. In the Signature text box, enter the name, title, or other information you want to be applied to the bottom of each mass email.

  1. In Windows, to open OnDemand, double-click the OnDemand Client desktop icon. On a Mac, in Applications, double-click the OnDemand Client desktop icon.
  2. In the PDS OnDemand window, double-click one of the PDS Office icons.
  3. Enter your PDS user name and password, and click OK.
  4. On the main page, click File > Setup > Email & Text Setup.
  5. Click the E-Mail Server Setup tab.
  6. Verify the Server Requires Authentication check box is cleared.
  7. Select the Server Limits E-Mails check box.
  8. In the Maximum E-Mails in a Batch field, enter 75. This setting is to prevent email filters from viewing this email as spam.
  9. In the Time Delay Between Batches field, enter 2. Not only does this setting help prevent this email from being detected as spam, it also allows the OnDemand servers to continue to operate at optimal speeds.
  10. Select If an Error Occurs, Delay 30 Seconds and Retry Once.
  11. Click OK.
