PDS Downloads Warning

Our PDS code signing certificate is expiring on December 9, 2016. We have purchased a new certificate, but it takes some time to develop, what is termed by the industry, a "trusted reputation". In the meantime, a SmartScreen warning will display on Windows 8 and Windows 10 computers.

Does this affect me?

If you download your PDS program updates from the Client Portal, you may see the SmartScreen warning.

You will not see the warning if:

  • You are an OnDemand client
  • You use the Check for Program Update option on the File menu in your program
  • You use the installation CD

What do I do if I see the warning?

You can still download PDS program updates from the Client Portal as you normally do.

If you click Run after downloading the update, you'll see the following message. Click More info.

 

Then you'll see the program update file name and the ACS Technologies publisher information. Click Run anyway.

 

Each time you download the program update this way, it builds our reputation as a trustworthy software publisher. After a good number of clients have done this, you will no longer see the message.
