With this process, you can change the Active/Inactive status of a group of families. For example, you may want to inactivate multiple family records after printing statements at year-end. The Inactive check box displays at the top of any family data window.

In the Families navigation pane, click Processes > Activate/Inactivate Families. Select whether you want to use automatic updating or individual entry.

 

 To change family statuses automatically

This process alters data. We recommend backing up your data before proceeding.

  1. Select the automatic updating method option, and click Next.
  2. Select whether to make families active or inactive, and click Next.
  3. Select to include all families or only those you select. Click Next.

    Useful Information

    For help selecting families, see the Additional Selections tab on Select Records to Print.

  4. Review your list. To exclude any records from processing, clear the check box.
  5. When you're ready to make the selected records active/inactive, click Next.
  6. To post the new family statuses, click Finish.
 To change family statuses individually

This process alters data. We recommend backing up your data before proceeding.

  1. Select the individual entry method option, and click Next.
  2. Select whether to make families active or inactive, and click Next.
  3. Select a family, and click Add Family to List. Repeat this for each family you want to process. When you're finished, click Next.
  4. Review your list. To exclude any records from processing, clear the check box.
  5. When you're ready to make the selected records active/inactive, click Next.
  6. To post the new family statuses, click Finish.
