When you add a custom HTML email report, you can insert images in the editor.
Which Image Option Do I Use?
The image option you use depends on where your image "lives".
If the image is saved on your computer, click the ellipsis at the end of the File field and select it.
If you're pulling the image from your diocese's website, copy and paste the image link in the URL field.
Should I Embed My Image?
When you insert an image, you have the option to embed it into your document.
When you embed an image, that means you're attaching it to your email. This works well when you only have one or two images to include. However, embedded images don't always show up correctly in web-based email, like Gmail and Yahoo! Mail. This also increases the size of your email (especially if you have multiple images), which could delay the sending process.
Linked Images (Not Embedded)
When you link an image, it isn't attached to your email. Instead, it's loaded from the web. This is great if you want to include multiple images in your email. However, linked images may be blocked by most web-based email programs. Also, some only show linked images if they are stored on a "trusted site".
- If you're editing an existing email, click Modify HTML in the Additional Layout window.
- In the editor, click Insert Image.
- Determine how to get your image:
- If your image is located online, copy the URL link of the image. Make sure it has the image file extension at the end (for example, www.mydiowebsite.com/myimage.jpg). Paste the link in the URL field.
- If your image is saved on your computer, click the File field ellipsis . Locate and select the image, then click Open.
- Determine whether to use an embedded or linked image:
- To embed the image, click Embed image into document.
- To link the image, clear the embed option.
- Select how to align your image in the email.
- If needed, edit the width and height to your specification. If you leave these blank, your image is inserted at its original size.
- Click OK.
