Parts of the Children's Ministry
A good starting place is learning about the major pieces that the children's ministry module introduces to The City. From there, you can drill down into the parts that are of the most interest to you.
Check-In Group: This is arguably the most important feature of the children's ministry module, because it allows all other parts of the system to operate. This special group type has the ability to replicate its events into every service group that it parents. It’s this feature that enables it to interact with the check-in kiosk and provide a complete list of service times and classroom assignments for parents to sign their kids into. It is the starting point and most important piece of the children's ministry group structure.
Check-In Kiosk: This is the feature that makes check-in possible each week. It's a special face of The City that helps parents quickly and safely get their kids into your children's ministry. It is optimized for use at a touchscreen terminal to interface with a barcode scanner and name-tag printer. It's also tied in to the rest of your City to create offline users for disconnected parents, keep family records updated, connect families with the right groups in your ministry, and track attendance. All that happens in the brief moment it takes for a parent to enter some information and scan a barcode.
Children's Ministry Admin Panel: With this tool, ministry leaders and volunteers can manage technical settings of the Kiosk, set class assignments for the kids, check in volunteers, review child and parent information, oversee classrooms, and much more.
Resources: Resources are an additional feature that comes with the children's ministry module. Though not essential to the system, they are made to represent classrooms in your ministry and allow volunteers to request certain rooms for their classes. Then children's ministry administrators can watch room capacities as they fill up.
