On February 28, 2019, we're saying goodbye to The City, but we have something even better for you in Realm.
Do you use WordPress for your church's website or blog? With The City Login widget on your sidebar, visitors can log in to The City from any page of your site. This keeps your church's web presence all in one spot, and means one less site that your members need to bookmark!
Install the City Login WordPress Plugin
You can install the WordPress plugin manually, though installing it from within your WordPress site is the easiest method.
If you want to manually install the WordPress plugin, you'll need to use an FTP program.
Place the City Login WordPress Widget
After installing the plugin, it's time to place the widget on your WordPress site.
Configure the City Login WordPress Widget
Before anyone can log in to The City with your widget, you must configure it with information about your City.
Widget Sections
The subdomain displays in your City's URL address directly before "OnTheCity.org." For example, in the URL http://livingstones.onthecity.org/ the subdomain is “livingstones.”
Subdomain:Display: Select the way the widget displays on your site.
Show Remember me checkbox: Provides a Remember Me checkbox on the widget.
Show placeholder text: By default, “Login” and “Password” labels display to the left of the text boxed. Selecting this displays "Login" and "Password" inside the text boxes instead.
More Technical Stuff
Do you want to customize this plugin for your WordPress? Feel free to check out The City's WordPress Github for all your development needs.
If you're hands-on with front-end programming, you can also check out the JavaScript version of the login form for even more customization!
